Wool is undervalued in Canada. It is seen as a by-product of the lamb industry and many Manitoba sheep farmers are burning, composting or trashing their yearly wool clip, or seeing very low return on that wool from the Canadian Cooperative Wool Growers. Currently there is very little infrastructure in the region or the country to adequately deal with the quantity and quality of Canadian wool.
